PURPOSE OF A HOMESCHOOL UMBRELLA PROGRAM
To deliver a high-caliber education focused on academic excellence, global citizenship, and spiritual and personal development with a biblical worldview.
Here's how we support you...
Maryland law permits students (ages 5-18) to fulfill their educational requirements through "home instruction." Families must have their home education program supervised by either their local public school system or an approved organization registered with the Maryland State Department of Education.
Instructional Support
We partner with you to ensure that you are providing regular, thorough instruction in the subjects that would commonly be taught within particular grades.
Personalized Support
We provide support in your homeschooling decisions, and help find educational resources and curricula that might best suit your learner.
Portfolio Review
We conduct a curriculum review at the beginning of the year and a mid-year portfolio review, containing work samples from all disciplines.
Compliance with MD Laws
We assist your home education program in meeting the
requirements of Maryland's home instruction laws, as found in the Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR 13A.10.01)
Diploma & Graduation
We provide an opportunity for High School students to earn a diploma issued by Cornerstone Academy and participate in Graduation ceremonies.
Field Trips & Chapel
We provide opportunities to attend school field trips, weekly Chapel services, and any school events on the Cornerstone Academy campus.
